On Catholic Education Sunday (Oct 17/18, 2026), please give special attention to the second collection, which supports Catholic education across the Diocese, including our Catholic public schools, St. Mary’s University, & St. Joseph Seminary.
This year, as a special one-time initiative, the Diocese of Calgary will match up to $250,000 of funds from the Catholic Education Sunday collection on Oct 17/18, distributed among our five Catholic school districts.

St. Vincent De Paul Society & the Knights of Columbus are holding their Annual Winter Clothing Drive on Saturday, October 24.
Parishioners are invited to drop off clothes between 8:00 am - 4:00 pm in the St. Francis Room located inside the church. This year’s collection goes to the Calgary Drop-In Centre, who assist the city’s homeless people free of charge.

Donations of winter type clothes are urgently needed for men, women & children. They are looking for "gently used" clothes of the following type: casual pants, jeans, cords, jogging pants, winter jackets, gloves, scarves, sweaters, plain T shirts, toques, running shoes, winter boots, & back-packs. They also need new items of the following type: new socks (the warmer the better), new underwear – both women’s & men’s and new towels.
Members of St. Vincent & the Knights will be on hand to accept your clothing donations. Please check your closets & bring down some warm clothes for the less fortunate in our community. Please pack the clothes in large garbage bags for ease in handling.
The church cannot accept bags of clothing before October 24 due to lack of storage space.

St. Bonaventure Parish will participate in the Pro-Life Prayer Vigil outside the Kensington Abortion Clinic on Friday October 30 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
Rides will be provided. We will meet in the St. Bonaventure parking lot at 3:30.

Yet, she came to realize that God wants everyone just as we are. She wrote famous books, teaching people that prayer is like a wonderful castle inside your heart where you can always visit God.
October is also the Month Dedicated to the Most Holy Rosary. Bring your family together in prayer. Pray the Rosary as a family and ask Mary, Queen of Peace, to bring the peace of Christ into your home and into our world.
Looking forward to Ablaze Youth Night on Friday, October 16th & 23rd! All Youth in Grades 6-12 are invited to join in the fun and faith!

Our parish is here to help children & teens prepare for the Sacraments they may have missed, including Baptism, First Reconciliation, First Holy Communion, & Confirmation.

- Children & teens who have not yet been baptized Roman Catholic
- Children & teens who have missed one or more Sacraments
- Children & teens who need help catching up in their sacramental journey
[For children under 14: at least one parent must be Roman Catholic in order to receive the Sacrament of Baptism. For those 14 years of age and older: they may inquire about preparing for the Sacraments themselves.]
Sacrament Registration & Information
First Reconciliation & First Communion preparation is completed together with parent & child. We prepare for First Reconciliation in the Fall & First Communion in the Spring. Fill out one registration form. This will suffice for both sacraments.
Deadline to register for First Reconciliation & First Communion will be Friday, October 16.

If your child is in Grade 2 or older & you would like them to prepare & celebrate the Sacrament of First Reconciliation & First Communion please register today.
